You may remember handsome blue boy, Remus and his person Alexandra Tudor-Jeffrey, as the well-deserved winners of this year’s Bling My Bandana competition. Remus can be seen here, dazzling all the other dogs on the Poole Walk in Dorset, in his prize-winning, glitter-encrusted neckerchief.

The response to this year’s competition, the first of its kind in GBGW history, has been phenomenal with over 40 entries submitted. The GBGW Team have been delighted to be able to offer some fantastic goodies, courtesy of some wonderful artisans and creators of luxury houndy goods, such as The Innocent Hound, DogsNDubs, Nellie Doodles, Max & Molly Designs, A La Bark Baking, Hill Cottage Hounds, Bubblegum & Buttons and MORE.

Upon winning, Remus’ Person had this to say:

“Remus is delighted! We’re shocked and surprised as they were all so beautiful. They looked fantastic on the walks!”

“Thank you so much GBGW for the wonderful prizes that Remus and I have received for the bandana competition, and what better day for them to arrive than Remus’ birthday!

He is one lucky dog and I am one lucky owner. The gifts are absolutely amazing so thank you to the people that donated them and Claire for putting them together. Also a big thank you to my mum, Denise Tudor for helping me with the bandana.”

The level of creativity was so high and competition for the prizes was so tough that the judges asked that they also be allowed to award prizes to Lucy and her person, Dawn Dixon, as a Runner-Up! Black beauty Lucy’s bandana was blinged to perfection with beading, so you can imagine how much she’s loving her new handmade collar with beaded tassels…

“I would just like to say a MASSIVE thank you for our Runner’s Up prize in the Bling My Bandana competition which I received today!! The collar is absolutely gorgeous!! Lucy looks the bees knees in it! The venison sausages are going down a treat […] Thank you once again but I must also credit my daughter Isobel who rooted through many toy boxes looking for the beads, we loved entering and are looking forward to the walk next year (but hopefully there will be no Gale Force 10 wind and rain!)”

The GBGW are thrilled with the outcome of this year’s competition and hope even more folks will enjoy taking part in future competitions.
