GREAT BRITISH GREYHOUND WALK – MALVERN HILLS 2012

Malvern Hills was chosen as a new GRWE Herefordshire & Worcestershire venue (with everyone else invited). The walk was a little longer and gently inclined than the normal walks, but with the potential of 30 mile panoramic views each way at the summit and many never having been here before, a must. The weather obviously wasn’t glorious summer sun, so we had to take what was given. It started off sunny and bright, then clouded over and rained at the start, but brightened up afterwards with a fresh breeze.
45 perfectly behaved greyhounds and lurchers braved the elements and made it to the windswept summit, only to be rained on once up there, but this cleared for a warm and sunny descent to The Bluebell base camp for coffee and bacon butties.

£47.50 profit was raised for GBGW in personalised ‘Malvern Hills’ medals* and big blue badge sales. (*Well worth the extra for the event, together with striped red/white/blue ribbon).

Many thanks to all who took part, the donations and also to Key IQ (Upper Colwall, Herefordshire), for the kind use of their car park for the event.

The GBGW 2013 walk is definitely penciled in after the very enjoyable GBGW 2012. Dated TBC.

Please all come next year and enjoy the warmth and views!

This event is dedicated to ASH who sadly passed the week before the event and will always be missed.
